Bridie (McMonagle) McGill, age 81, wife of the late Patrick C. McGill, of West Chester, Pennsylvania, United States, passed away on Tuesday, May 5, 2020 in the Wayne Center. Born on February 6, 1939 in Glasgow, Scotland, she was a daughter of the late Anne (McGinley) and Peter McMonagle.
Raised in Ireland, Bridie emigrated to the United States at the age of 19, before obtaining her American Citizenship in the early 1960's. She enjoyed puzzles, reading, gardening, and baking. She was very accomplished in knitting Irish sweaters and was well known for her Irish scone.
Mrs. McGill is survived by her children: James P. McGill, of Conshohocken, Ann McGill, of Downingtown, Margaret, wife of Joseph Williamson, of New Oxford, Bried, wife of James Perry, of King of Prussia and Michael McGill, fiance of Joyce Paden, of Phoenixville; grandchildren: Megan Sham, Danielle Williamson, Joseph Williamson, Jake McGill, Keri McGill, and Caitlin Perry; and siblings: Michael McMonagle, Rose Hill, Cornelius McMonagle and Maurice McMonagle, all of Scotland; and numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins. In addition to her husband and parents, Bridie was preceded in death by an infant son: Charles McGill.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend her memorial service on Friday, July 24, 2020, at 11:00 am at Ann McGill's residence. Officiating will be Deacon David Kubczak. Friends will be received from 10:00 - 11:00 am. Private interment will take place at Indiantown Gap National Cemetery. Due to current regulations, CDC guidelines, social distancing and capacity limitations will be followed. These services will be outside so please plan accordingly and a mask is still necessary.
