Captain John J. "Jack" Stusnick, age 86, husband of Margot A. (Morales) Stusnick and the late Margaret (Redick) Stusnick, died Saturday evening, March 31, 2012 in the Devon Senior Living Center, Devon, PA. Born in Edwardsville, PA, he was a son of the late John J. and Josephine (Dobkiewicz) Stusnick. He was a graduate of the Edwardsville High School. and the Pennsylvania Maritime Academy.

Captain Stusnick was a career naval officer, serving over 30 years in the Navy in engineering aboard numerous warships and aircraft carriers during the Viet Nam war years. He later served in various senior staff positions for the 1st, 3rd and 5th Naval Reserve districts. During his career, he earned many awards and commendations including the Meritorious Service Medal.

He was a member of the St. Paul's Roman Catholic Church in East Norriton, and was a former member of the St. Joseph the Worker RC church in Fallsington, PA.

In addition to his wife of 25 years, Captain Stusnick is survived by five children: Patricia, wife of Dennis Simon; Joanne Merna; John, husband of Nancy Stusnick; Michael, husband of Betsy Stusnick; Mark, husband of Elizabeth Stusnick; three step-children: Lisa Montalvo, wife of David Boscher; Janet, wife of Sal Villari; Ed, husband of Allison Montalvo; nine grandchildren, five step-grandchildren, five great-grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews. Captain Stusnick was pre-deceased by one brother: Daniel, husband of Joan Stusnick.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend the Funeral Mass at the St. Isaac Jogues RC Church, 50 West Walker Road, Wayne, PA 19087 on Wednesday, April 4th, 2012 at 10:00 AM. Officiating will be the Rev. Stephen A. Moerman. A private burial will be held in the Washington Crossing Veterans Cemetery on Thursday. Friends will be received from 7 - 8:30PM Tuesday evening at the Campbell - Ennis - Klotzbach Funeral Home, Inc., Main Street at Fifth Avenue, Phoenixville, PA or on Wednesday morning at the Church from 9:15 - 9:45 AM.
