Obituary

Carl R. "Mutz" Clemens, age 87, husband of the late Frances T. (Mikolajewski) Clemens, of Royersford, PA died early Saturday morning, February 2, 2013 in the Seasons Hospice at Phoenixville Hospital. Born in Royersford, he was a son of the late Irvin and Clara (Wescott) Clemens. He was a 1944 graduate of the Royersford High School. A veteran, Mr. Clemens served for the U.S. Navy during World War II. He was stationed on Saipan in the South Pacific Theater from 1945 to 1946 and worked in Naval aviation. He worked at the Goodrich Manufacturing plant in Oaks, PA in his early years. Mr. Clemens also owned the former Esso Station in Limerick. He then worked for Horning Chevrolet In Royersford. Mr. Clemens retired from the Spring City Knitting Company. He held several positions including President of the Friendship Hook Ladder & Hose Fire Company in Royersford. He was a charter member of the Royersford VFW, Post 6341.

Mr. Clemens is survived by one son: Craig R. Clemens, of Royersford, PA and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by one sister: Dorothy "Rose" Stahley; and one brother: Irvin "Barney" Clemens.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend the funeral service at the Cattermole-Klotzbach Funeral Home, 600 Washington Street, Royersford, PA on Friday morning, February 8, 2013 at 11AM. Burial will be held privately in the Fernwood Cemetery, Royersford, PA. Friends may call from 10-11AM Friday morning at the funeral home. Memorial gifts may be made to the Phoenixville Cancer Center, 140 Nutt Road, Phoenixville, PA 19460.
