Carmen J. DiBattista, age 89, loving husband of 54 years to Kathryn "Kitty" (Shields) DiBattista, of Royersford, PA, passed away peacefully on Saturday, November 11, 2023 at Temple University Hospital, Philadelphia, PA. Born on December 27, 1933 in Norristown, PA, he was a son of the late Carmine and Amina (Martelli) DiBattista.
Mr. DiBattista was a graduate of Norristown High School. He worked as the superintendent of the paint department at Penco Products in Oaks, PA for 39 years until his retirement. During his retirement, he continued to work at Spring-Ford Country Club for 20 years.
Mr. DiBattista was a longtime member of the Church of the Epiphany in Royersford. He loved his family, and he cherished spending time with them. He enjoyed his independence and ability to take scenic drives with his wife. People often commented about spotting Carmen driving around town with his DBATSTA license plate. Carmen could be found often sitting on his sunporch watching a football or baseball game. Throughout his life Carmen cared about those who "just could not catch a break". One example of this is the last few months of his life, he made daily trips to Pottstown, and would give money to the homeless.
In addition to his wife, Mr. DiBattista is survived by two children, C.J., husband of Laura DiBattista and Maria, wife of Stephen McCaughan; five grandchildren, Sophia, Gianna, Casey, Conor, and Kyle; and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by one daughter, Randa DiBattista, and two siblings, Mary "Dolly" Molinaro and Ralph "Bobby" DiBattista.
