Carol Joan High's Obituary
Dr. Carol Joan (Trautman) High, 62, of Warwick Township, passed away on Wednesday, August 26, 2009 at Thomas Jefferson University Hospital. She was the wife of Lester B. High.
Carol was born in Philadelphia, a daughter of the late William and Anna (Henze) Trautman. She was a 1964 graduate of The Philadelphia High School of Agriculture and Horticulture, a 1968 graduate of Penn State University and a 1971 graduate of The University of Pennsylvania. She was employed for twenty-eight years as a veterinarian at Phoenixville Animal Hospital. Her care for animals and their families was a passion that will be missed by her clients and co-workers. That passion was highly regarded by her colleagues in the profession as well as her second family at the Phoenixville Animal Hospital.
She was a member of Coventry Church of the Brethren, American Veterinarian Medical Association, Friends of Warwick Park and the Association for Retarded Citizens. She enjoyed shopping and gardening, but most of all her children and grandchildren. Carol was also a gifted artist.
In addition to her husband of forty years, she is survived by two sons: Andrew F. High at home and Bradley J. High and his wife Heather of North Coventry; a foster daughter Michelle (Houser) Kissinger and her husband Darryl of Leesport; a sister, Aileen Kondyra and her husband Stephen of Doylestown; a brother, William Trautman Jr. and wife Virginia of Cary, N.C., and three grandchildren: Emily, Ashley and Kayleigh.
Her funeral service will be held on Tuesday, September 1, 2009 at Coventry Church of the Brethren, 946 Keen Road, Pottstown, PA 19465 at 10:30 AM. Interment will follow in Mt. Carmel Cemetery. Visitations will be held at the church on Monday, August 31, 2009 from 6-8 PM and Tuesday morning from 9:30-10:30 AM. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Compassion International, c/o Coventry Church of the Brethren at the above address. Online condolences may be offered at www.royersfordfuneralhome.com. Arrangements are by Cattermole-Klotzbach Funeral Home of Royersford.
