Cecilia Cooney, 80, wife of the late Manus Joseph Cooney passed away at home, on Friday May 7th surrounded by her adoring children. Born June 24th 1929, the 4th child of Agnes and Patrick Luby of Wilkes Barre Pa. Cecilia is preceded in death by her brother, Jack Luby, and sister, Joan Wende. She is survived by sisters Nan Height, Patricia Nestor and Fran Grogan, and brother Jim Luby.

Cecilia married Manus Cooney on May 15th 1954. Her life of devotion to her family is her legacy. She is survived by her children; Catherine (Bill) Gorski, Eileen (Dan) McDevitt, Winnie (Raymond) Landis, Maryellen (John) McGranaghan, Cecilia (John) Weber, Christopher (Candie) Cooney, Cynthia (Thomas) Trampel, Paula (Dan) Ringenbach, Salena (Mike)Roskos.
Cecilia is also survived by her 28 grandchildren. Suzanne, Caitlin, Dan and Patrick McDevitt, Ray, Christopher, and Laura Landis, Kristen, Kevin and Jake McGranaghan, John, Erica, Manus and Harold Weber, Tim, Caroline and Nicole Cooney, Tommy, Shannon, Sabrina, and Hailey Trampel, Danny, Steven, Salena, Paul, Jack Ringenbach, Cecilia and Michael Roskos.

A visitation will be held on Tuesday evening, May 11, 2010 at Campbell-Ennis-Klotzbach Funeral Home, Inc., Main Street at Fifth Avenue, Phoenixville, PA from 7-9 PM and on Wednesday, May 12, 2010 at St. Joseph's Church, 3640 Schuylkill Rd. (Rt 724) Spring City, PA from 10:00 to 10:45 AM, her funeral mass will follow at 11 AM. Celebrant will be Rev. Charles R. O'Hara. Burial will be private. In lieu of flowers, the family request that donations be made to either St. Joseph Parish, Spring City, PA or St. Charles Borromeo Seminary, Wynnewood, PA.
