Charles C. "Bud" Grater, age 99, husband of the late Dorothy P. (Valiant) Grater, of Elizabethtown, PA, formerly of Royersford, PA, died Saturday morning, May 30, 2009 in the Masonic Village, Elizabethtown, PA. Born in Royersord, he was a son of the late Charles D., and Kathryn (Stahl) Grater. Mr. Grater was a 1928 graduate of the former Royersford High School. A veteran, he served for the U.S. Air Force, during World War II. He worked for B.F. Goodrich Company in Oaks, PA for over 38 years. He was a member of the Spring City United Methodist Church. Mr. Grater was a member, past master and secretary for over fifteen years of the Royersford Lodge, #585, Free & Accepted Masons. He was also a member of the Tall Cedars of Lebanon #34, Spring City, the Reading Consistory, and the Rajah Temple, Reading, PA.

Mr. Grater is survived by one nephew; Russell C., husband of Diane Thomas, of Pottstown, PA, one great niece; Amber Thomas, one great nephew; Rhett Thomas, one great-great niece; Molly Thomas, one great-great nephew; Blake Thomas. Mrs. Grater was pre-deceased by one sister; Ethel C. Thomas.

Relatives and friends are invited to the attend the Masonic service followed the funeral service at 10:00AM on Wednesday, June 3, 2009 at the Cattermole - Klotzbach Funeral Home, 600 Washington Street, Royersford, PA. Officiating will be the Rev. Kerry W. Bart. Burial will be in the Fernwood Cemetery, Royersford, PA. Friends may visit from 9:30 - 10:00AM Wednesday morning at the funeral home.
