Charles H. "Charlie" Evans, 85, of Douglassville, passed away peacefully at home on
Wednesday, August 5, 2026, surrounded by his loving family.

Born in Norristown, Pennsylvania, Charlie was the son of the late Charles A. Evans and Francis
(Oberholtzer) Evans.

Charlie shared 64 wonderful years of marriage with his beloved wife, Judith "Judy" (Nurnberg)
Evans. Above all else, he was a devoted husband, father, grandfather, and friend. His family
was the center of his life, and he took great pride in supporting, encouraging, and caring for
those he loved.

In addition to his loving wife, Charlie is survived by his children: Bryan Evans (Jodi), Kevin
Evans, Doreen Krebs (Kevin), and Dianne Picard (Chris). He also leaves behind six cherished
grandchildren: Brett, Taylor, Rachael, Lauren, Anthony, Isabella and his sister Betty Rossi. He
was preceded in death by his parents, Charles and Francis Evans.

Charlie attended Spring-Ford High School before serving his country for seven years in the Pennsylvania National Guard. Throughout his career, he worked for Cann & Saul Steel, Phoenix Steel, Spring-Ford Area School District and Custers Garage Inc, and several other employers, earning the respect of coworkers through his dedication and strong work ethic.

A lifelong sports enthusiast, Charlie was a devoted fan of the Philadelphia Eagles and Flyers.
He gave generously of his time as a youth football, ice hockey, and soccer coach, helping
shape the lives of countless young athletes. Charlie was among the founders of the Valley
Forge Colonials Hockey Club, one of the area's earliest youth hockey organizations, which
continues today. He took tremendous pride in watching the sport grow throughout the region and in helping create opportunities for generations of young players.

Charlie also had a lifelong passion for history. He devoted countless hours to historical
research, living history programs, and historical reenactments, sharing his knowledge with
others and inspiring an appreciation for the past. He especially enjoyed teaching history through hands-on experiences and encouraging others to become involved in preserving America's heritage.

Those who knew Charlie will remember his quiet strength, generous spirit, unwavering love for
his family, and his sense of humor. He was always ready with a joke, a story, or a smile that
could brighten someone's day. His legacy lives on through the family he cherished, the athletes
he coached, the hockey community he helped build, and the many people whose lives he
enriched through his love of history and his willingness to share it with others.

Relatives and friends are invited to celebrate Charlie's life on Saturday, August 15, 2026, at
Cattermole-Klotzbach Funeral Home, 600 Washington Street, Royersford, PA. Family and
friends may call from 10:00 a.m. until 11:00 a.m., with a funeral service beginning at 11:00 a.m.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Leukemia Research Foundation
and/or the Dementia Society of America in Charlie's memory.
