Charles M. Fort, 90, formerly of Mowere Road, Phoenixville, has had a change of address. As of June 30, 2009, he is residing in Heaven with his Savior, Jesus Christ. He was the husband of the late Ruth L. (Mengel) Fort. Born in Norristown, he was a son of the late John D. and Marion (Drake) Fort.
Mr. Fort was a 1936 graduate of Phoenixville High School, and served in the United States Army during World War II. He was a member of the Pawling Independent Baptist Church.
Mr. Fort was employed at Herman Sporting Goods in King of Prussia and coached at the Oaks Audubon Little League when it was founded.
Mr. Fort is survived by his daughter, Karen, wife of Richard Meister, of Malvern, three sons, Donald, husband of Nancy Fort, of Phoenixville, Noel, husband of Lynda Fort, of Orlando, FL, and Douglas, husband of Sheryl Fort, of Phoenixville, sisters, Marion Silic, Doris Swanson, Mary McMenaman, and Florence Biehl, brothers Ralph and David Fort, twelve grandchildren, twelve great-grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by a son, Gary T. Fort, sister, Sarah Ropelt, and brother, Bob Fort.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend his funeral service at the Pawling Independent Baptist Church, 513 Pawling Road, Phoenixville, PA 19460, on Monday, July 6, 2009, at 11:00 a.m. Officiating will be Pastor Rogers H. Bowyer. Interment will follow in the Philadelphia Memorial Park, Frazer. Friends will be received from 10:00-11:00 a.m. at the Church. Memorial gifts may be made to the Pawling Independent Baptist Church. Arrangements are being handled by the Campbell-Ennis-Klotzbach Funeral Home, Inc., Phoenixville.
