Chester "Chet" J. Woodson, Oct 13, 1955 - Nov 5, 2015
Chester "Chet" J. Woodson, age 60, beloved husband of Patti (Solomon) Woodson, of Phoenixville, died suddenly on Thursday, November 5th, 2015, in Livorno, Italy. Born in Amsterdam, NY, son of Sophie (Lis) and Chester Drzewicki.
Chet received his undergraduate degree in computer science from Syracuse University, his MBA from Syracuse and completed his doctoral work at Union College in Schenectady, NY and Villanova University.
Chet worked for General Electric/Lockheed Martin in King of Prussia for 30 years as a technologist; perfecting his craft as a chief systems engineer and senior information architect, supporting the defense and intelligence communities. He was currently working for Aerospace Corporation in Chantilly, VA. He was also co-owner of Pennypacker Florist in Phoenixville.
Chet had lots of widely varied interests. He loved technology and gadgets, tools and renovation projects. He was a diehard NY Yankees fan and loved college basketball, especially March Madness, and all Syracuse sports. He was passionate about investing and the stock market, photography, New York and London Theatre, and travel of all kinds, but especially cruising. He was always happy to share information or give advice to anyone who asked. The thing he enjoyed and valued the most was the time he spent with his family.
In addition to his wife and parents, he is survived by son, David, husband of Jackie (Owdij) Woodson, of Phoenixville and son, Phillip, husband of Cassie (Williams) Woodson, of Windermere, Florida; four grandchildren, Michael, Finn, Anthony and Hadley; mother-in-law, Gail Solomon; aunt, Helen Stanislau; and cousin, Paul Stanislau.
A visitation will be held on Sunday, November 15, 2015, from 2:00 - 5:00 pm at the Campbell-Ennis-Klotzbach Funeral Home, Inc., Main Street at Fifth Avenue, Phoenixville. Donations may be made in his name to the Soroptimist of Phoenixville, P.O. Box 705, Phoenixville, PA 19460. Condolences may be offered online at www.PhoenixvilleFuneralHome.com.
