Chester "Chet" Crouthamel, 94, of Limerick, formerly of West Norriton, husband of the late Doris (Hangey) Crouthamel, passed away peacefully on May 25, 2024.

Born in Bedminster Township, Bucks County, he was the son of the late Paul E Crouthamel and Mary Magdalena (Weikel) Crouthamel; stepson to Grace (Fryling) Crouthamel. He was preceded in death by his brothers Ralph and Willard, and is survived by his sister Sarah Brown, who resides in Clearfield, PA.

Chet attended Coopersburg High School until he was forced to quit to help on the family farm. He served in the U.S. Army during the Korean War from 1948-1952, achieving the rank of Staff Sergeant and being stationed in Germany.

Surviving are his daughters Debra Ann (Bud) Gomery; Donna (Tony) Bagatti, who preceded him in death; and Robin (Louie) Fiorentino. He is also survived by 7 grandchildren: Dino, Scott, Jaimie, Tim, Ashli, Mandi, and Alyssa; and 10 great-grandchildren. Mary Buchanan has been his loving companion and neighbor for the last 20+ years.

Chet dedicated 39 years of his life to Georgia Pacific, most recently as Operations Manager until his retirement in 1993. He was an avid sportsman, playing softball for the Lutheran league in Perkasie, fast-pitch softball for St. Andrews in Audubon, and baseball for 5 years, including 3 years in the service and in 1952 & 1953.

He was a skilled handyman, taking pride in projects around his home, and enjoyed spending time with his family by the pool and at his pond. Every Sunday was filled with joyous activities like basketball, nerf ball, volleyball, croquet, or quoits with loved ones. He took great pride in hosting countless family reunions, where laughter and love filled the air, creating enduring memories for all who attended. Chet was a passionate Philadelphia sports fan, particularly supporting the Eagles and the Phillies.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend his funeral service at the Cattermole-Klotzbach Funeral Home, 600 Washington Street, Royersford, PA on Thursday, May 30, 2024, at 10:30 AM. Officiating will be Pastor Ricky Ayala. Burial will follow in the Limerick Garden of Memories. Friends will be received from 9:30 - 10:30 am at the funeral home.
