Christine Angeline Bearden

In Loving Memory February 17, 1927 - July 10, 2017 Christine Angeline (Benedetto) Bearden, 90 of Phoenixville, PA wife of the late Matthew Bearden Sr. peacefully went to her heavenly home on Monday, July 10, 2017 at Phoenixville Hospital. She was surrounded by her family. Born in Philadelphia, PA on February 17, 1927, she was the daughter of the late Charles Carmine and Mary Grace Benedetto. Christine (affectionately known as Dolly) attended Catholic School in Phoenixville, PA. Christine married the late Matthew (Duke) Bearden Sr. in Syracruse, New York in 1948. From this union, one daughter and six sons were born. Christine was a stay at home mother until her youngest child went to grade school. After that, Christine was employed as a machine operator at the West Company in Phoenixville, PA for 18 years. While employed at the West Company she received many awards for Outstanding Employee Service. After retirement Christine continued to attend the company's annual Clam Bake and Christmas parties. She was a long-time member of St Mary of the Assumption Church in Phoenixville, PA. Christine also frequently attended Bethel Baptist Church of Phoenixville with her husband Matthew Sr. who was a lifetime member and Trustee, Emeritus. Christine was a dedicated wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother and friend. She had an angelic presence and was well known for her consistently generous, kind and giving spirit. Christine always offered a beautiful smile, kind word and never had a bad word for anyone. BINGO was her passion as she was an avid player and was known to her family and friends as the BINGO Queen of Southeastern PA and beyond. She loved to dress up and travel with her friends and family. Christine is survived by six sons: Matthew Jr., (Annette) of Pleasanton, CA,, Mark of Phoenixville, PA Ralph, (Cynthia) of Phoenixville, PA; Edward Sr., (Doreen) of Phoenixville, PA; Paul Sr., (Vanessa) of Landenberg, PA and Thomas, (Sharon) of Phoenixville, PA; She was preceded in death by her daughter Portia, the wife of Thomas Ramsey Jr. of Argyle, TX. She also leaves to cherish her memory seventeen grandchildren: Thomas III, Stephanie, Matthew III, Jeffrey, Paige, Brie, Darius, Brandy, Tori, Edward Jr., Taylor, Jordan, Paul Jr., Miles, Ashley, Alexis and Autumn and twelve great grandchildren. Christine was the 5th of 8 girls and she had 4 brothers. She is survived by two sisters: Rose Marie Whitson, of Lansdale, PA and Madeline "Tootsie" Butler, of Phoenixville, PA. Relatives and friends are invited to attend her funeral service at the Bethel Baptist Church, 412 Fairview Street, Phoenixville, PA on Monday, July 17, 2017 at 11:00 am. Officiating will be the Reverend Nathan Coleman. Interment will follow at Morris Cemetery, Phoenixville, PA. Friends will be received from 9:00 am - 11:00 am at the Church.
