Christine 'Molly' Bowen (nee Kimes), 82, wife of Frederick A. Bowen of Kimberton, died peacefully in Phoenixville Hospital Friday, March 29, 2013, having been in failing health for some time.

She was born in Phoenixville to Christine Clymer Kimes and Wilmer G. Kimes. Molly was a lifetime member of the First Presbyterian Church of Phoenixville, graduated from Phoenixville High School in 1948, and received a degree in education from West Chester Teacher College in 1952. Fred and Molly were married on June 4, 1951 at the Washington Memorial Chapel in Valley Forge, Pa.

Molly loved doing craft projects and was an avid knitter. She served as a Cub Scout den mother, assistant Girl Scout leader and was a nursery school teacher at Valley Forge Christian Academy. In 1983, Fred's work took them to live in Amman, Jordan for 3 years, after which they returned to their growing family.

She is survived by her husband, Fred; children, Frederick (Ellen), Thomas, Christine Winters (Jeff), Suzanne Oscar, and Kathleen Murtagh; brother, Thomas Kimes (Kathryn); sister-in-law, Marie Kimes; grandchildren, Fred D., Jennifer, Bethany, Christy, Michael, Justin, Lindsey, Matthew, Nicole, David, and Connor; great-grandchildren, Holly, Rose, Elijah and Magdalena. She was preceded in death by her brother, W. Grey Kimes, Jr.

A memorial service will be held at the First Presbyterian Church, 145 South Main Street, Phoenixville, PA on Friday, April 5, 2013 at 11:00 AM. Officiating will be the Rev. Eva Johnson. Friends will be received at the Church from 10:00-11:00 AM Friday morning. Burial at Washington Memorial Chapel cemetery will be held at a later date. Memorial contributions may be made in Molly's name to a charity of one's choice. Arrangements are being handled by the Campbell-Ennis-Klotzbach Funeral Home, Inc.
