Claire M. Piersol, 90, wife of the late Mervyn H. Piersol, Sr. of West Brandywine, formerly Warwick, passed away on Tuesday, November 24, 2015 in Freedom Village at Brandywine. Born on May 15, 1925 in Media, Pennsylvania, she was a daughter of the late Katherine (Knight) and Charles W. Powell.

A loving mother and grandmother, Mrs. Piersol was a homemaker. She had also been employed in the Owen J. Roberts High School Library. She was a member of Harmonyville Church of the Brethren and had been a former member of Pine Swamp Church.

Several year ago, she had been a volunteer for Meals On Wheels and at the Morgantown Village Library. She enjoyed cooking, hiking and reading a good book. Along with her husband,she toured a great part of country in their RV during their retirement years.

Mrs. Piersol is survived by daughters: Joan M., wife of Dennis Dry, of Cincinnati, OH and Carol E., wife of Richard Diobilda, of Coatesville; sons: Mervyn H., Jr., husband of Margaret Piersol, of Maple Shade, NJ, Terry R., former husband of Maureen Piersol, of Royersford, and Brian K., husband of Jane Piersol, of Warwick; brother: Ronald Powell of Rutledge; fifteen grandchildren; and eleven great grandchildren. Mrs. Piersol was preceded in death by a son: Duane D., husband of Marion Piersol-Miller, of Lancaster, and brothers: Charles L. and Walter Powell.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend her memorial service at Harmonyville Church of the Brethren, 2037 Harmonyville Road, Pottstown, PA 19465 on Sunday, November 29, 2015 at 2:00 pm. Officiating will be the Rev. John Kolle. Friends will be received from 2:00 - 2:30 pm at the Church.
