Obituary

D. Ray Allshouse, age 86, husband of the late Ruth (Dauderis) Allshouse, of Limerick, PA died Sunday, March 15, 2009 in the Temple University Hospital after a brief illness. Born in Greensburg, PA on July 20, 1922, he was a son of the late Samuel and Olive Allshouse. A veteran, he served for the U.S. Navy during World War II, and the Korean War. He completed his education as a Mechanical Engineer through the G.I. Bill at Worcester Polytechnical Institute in Worcester, MA. Mr. Allshouse was employed as an engineer at several firms and retired from Elf-Atochem in 1987. He enjoyed good books, playing golf, gardening, dancing, fine wine and cooking gourmet meals for family and friends. His special Swedish buffet at Christmas lives on as a family tradition. He will be remembered as a generous man with a sense of humor and a twinkle in the eye.

Mr. Allshouse is survived by two sons; Dennis (Jeanette), Curtis (Jeannemarie), two grandchildren; Margaret Gray and Allison Allshouse.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend the Funeral Service at the Cattermole - Klotzbach Funeral Home, 600 Washington Street, Royersford, PA on Saturday morning, March 21, 2009 at 10:30AM. Officiating will be the Rev. Paul H. Neff. Burial will be in the Limerick Garden of Memories, Limerick, PA. Friends will be received from 9:30 - 10:30 Saturday morning at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, memorial gifts may be made in his name to the Royersford Free Public Library, 200 S. 4th Avenue, Royersford, PA 19468.
