Obituary

Daniel James Fenyus, age 75, of Philadelphia, PA, husband of the late Kathleen J. (Donovan) Fenyus, passed away peacefully on Saturday, September 17, 2022. Born on January 25, 1947, in Phoenixville, PA, he was the son of the late Robert S. and Helen S. (Gawel) Fenyus.

Dan was a 1965 graduate of St. Pius X Catholic High School. He honorably served in the United States Navy, completing two tours in Vietnam during the Vietnam War as a Seabee. He worked at his family’s business, The Perkiomen Cafe, for over 35 years. In addition to his passion for buying and selling antiques, he loved traveling, especially to Rehoboth Beach, Provincetown, and Italy. Dan always enjoyed life while riding in the car with the top down.

His greatest joy came when he spent time with his grandchildren, often taking trips to New York to attend Broadway shows with them. He looked forward to entertaining by hosting countless holiday parties and Saturday night dinners with his Philadelphia friends.

Daniel is survived by three daughters, Nicole, wife of Michael Fisher of Spring City, PA, Danielle, wife of Justin Cifra of Blue Bell, PA, and Christine, wife of John Sabatino of North Wales, PA; eleven grandchildren, Aiden, Cathleen, Samantha, Paul, Adam, Harry, Logan, Jillian, Juliet, Corinna, and Sarah; best friend, Mark Auman; two siblings, Robert, husband of Rita Fenyus and Helen, wife of Gus Gadonas; and many nieces and nephews. Daniel was preceded in death by three siblings, Irene Hakun, Edmund Fenyus, and Joseph Fenyus.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend his funeral mass at Holy Trinity R.C. Church, 212 Dayton Street, Phoenixville, PA 19460 on Wednesday, September 28, 2022 at 10:00 am. Officiating the service will be Rev. John Hutter. Burial will follow in the Holy Trinity Church Cemetery. Friends will be received from 8:45 am - 10:00 am Wednesday in the Church. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in his name to The Abramson Cancer Center (@giving.apps.upenn.edu). Condolences may be made by visiting www.PhoenixvilleFuneralHome.com. As you all know Dan loved to dress in bright colors, especially in his favorite yellow. While celebrating his life, please dress colorful on Wednesday.
