Daniel Harlen Gauger, age 87, Husband of Jeanette Yost Gauger of Linfield, Pennsylvania, passed away on Friday, June 14, 2024 in the Phoenixville Hospital. Born in Pottstown, he was the Adopted Son of Ethel (Dear) and Howard Erbe, whom he lived with since age 7. His parents were Daniel Gauger, Jr. and Elizabeth (Collopy) Gauger.
Along with living and working on the family farm, Dan's professional life started as cook and then owner of Dan's Diner in Phoenixville through the 1960s and selling in 1972. He then worked for Waltz's Sod Farm in Limerick and his last job was with Hydromotion Inc. in Spring City.
He was an extraordinary member of the community, with his greatest passion serving the Linfield Fire Company, first as a Fireman, Fire Chief in 1968 and then Fire Police for 50 plus years. In the 60s and 70s he served in the Linfield and Limerick Lions Club. Daniel was a lifelong member of the Linfield United Church of Christ.
Dan was also known by many as "Farmer Dan" from his many years selling Lancaster County produce on the corner of Lewis Rd & Linfield Rd. As he got older he moved his stand to the end of the driveway of the family farm. He loved the interaction and conversation with all.
Daniel is survived by his loving wife, Jeanette Yost Gauger, his two daughters, Sharon Bieber, wife of Neal, Brenda DeLosh, wife of John, his Grandchildren Galen Bieber, Jason Heimbach, Douglas Gauger, Taylor Heimbach, Nickleas Heimbach, Kurtas Heimbach, his five Great Grandchildren, his Step children, Susan Black, Donna Wetzel, Marilyn Reiss, his seven Step Grandchildren, and four Step Great Grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, adopted parents, his first wife Kathryn Swavely Gauger, and his two Grandchildren Michael Bieber and Mitchell Heimbach.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend his Memorial Service at Cattermole-Klotzbach Funeral Home, 600 Washington Street, Royersford, Pennsylvania on Monday, July 1, 2024 at 11:00 AM. Please come prepared to share your treasured stories of Dan. Friends will be received from 10:00 AM-11:00 AM at Cattermole-Klotzbach Funeral Home. Interment is private.
