Daniel T. Hughes Sr., age 81, husband of Phyllis M. (Lynch) Hughes, of Phoenixville, Pennsylvania, passed away on Wednesday, May 23, 2018 at home. Born on May 27, 1936 in St. Louis, Missouri, he was a son of the late Aloysius and Zelma (Borders) Hughes.
Mr. Hughes served in the United States Army. He worked for and retired as a Vice President and General Manager of the Industrial Division of Honeywell in Ft. Washington. Following retirement, he continued work as a consultant for Fischer and Porter Company in Willow Grove. He enjoyed traveling locally and abroad, spending time skiing and going to the beach. He loved golf, attending the opera, and listening to classical music.
In addition to his wife, Mr. Hughes is survived by four children, Karen E. Hughes of Wilmington, DE, Daniel T. Jr., husband of Carol Hughes of Oahu, HI, Steven M., husband of Michele Hughes of Phoenixville, PA, and Tricia A., wife of Mark Lindsay of Batavia, IL; nine grandchildren, Elizabeth, Christopher, Danielle, Thomas, Julianna, Paige, Abigail, Mark Jr. and Britney; and two great granddaughters: Dalyce and Journey.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend his memorial mass at the St. Ann Chapel, 604 South Main Street, Phoenixville, Pennsylvania on Tuesday, May 29, 2018 at 11:00 am. Officiating will be Rev. John J. Newns. Burial will be held privately. Friends will be received from 9:30 am - 10:45 am Tuesday in the Chapel. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in his name to the ALS Foundation, P.O. Box 37022, Boone, IA 50037 or to a Veteran's charity of your choice..
