Obituary

Daniel R. Moore Jr., 87, of Phoenixville, passed away on Thursday, October 4, 2012 at Seasons Hospice. He was the husband of Elizabeth A. (Kane) Moore.

He was born in Norristown to the late Daniel R. Sr. and Mary (Pascale) Moore. He was a graduate of Bridgeport High School. Mr. Moore was a World War II veteran. He served in the Army with the 89th Division, 3rd Battalion, 355th Infantry Regiment, Company L in the European Theatre. After being discharged as a corporal, he worked for ten years as a mechanic for London Motors and was a thirty year employee at Burroughs until retiring in 1986.

He was an active member of First United Methodist Church, Phoenixville, PA where was in the Conversation Club, Men's Bible Study and Trustee's Maintenance Crew.
In addition to his wife of fifty-five years he is survived by his two sons: Jack, husband of Alaina Axford-Moore, of Trappe and Thomas S., husband of Peggy L. Moore, of Phoenixville and grandsons: Danny and Jacob Moore. He was preceded in death by a son, Timothy and brother, John.

His funeral service will be held on Monday, October 8, 2012 at 11 AM at First U.M.C., 865 S. Main Street, Phoenixville, PA 19460. Calling time is from 9:30 to 11:00 AM at the church. Burial will be in Philadelphia Memorial Park. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Trustee's Maintenance Fund of First United Methodist Church at the above address.
