Daniel A. Stewart Sr., of Oaks, PA, passed away on Friday, October 16, 2026 in the Morningside House of Collegeville, on what was his 85th birthday. Born on October 16, 1941 in Oaks, he was a son of the late George and Anna (Gebhardt) Stewart.
Mr. Stewart attended Spring-Ford High School. He went on to begin his career in the assembly lines for AutoCar Trucks in Exton. He would then move on to Penco Products for a short time before officially ending his working career assisting his son Dan in the HVAC business.
An avid outdoorsman, Dan loved spending time in the mountains of Sullivan County, where he enjoyed hunting and fishing. He was a dedicated member of the Lower Pottsgrove Sportsmen's Association. On his farmstead in Oaks, he raised many animals, carrying on a tradition passed down by his father. Along with horses, ponies, mules, chickens, pigeons, turkeys, goats, pigs, and his beloved hunting dogs, Dan was known to bring home more unusual animals from time to time-including raccoons, a fox, and even a porcupine. One of his favorite pastimes was horseback riding around Oaks, Valley Forge, and Evansburg Park alongside his friends and sons.
Mr. Stewart is survived by three sons, Daniel Stewart, Jr, husband of Lynne, Edward Stewart, husband of Melanie, and Dennis Stewart, husband of Kay; four grandchildren, Nicole Stewart, Sarah Pusch, wife of Curtis, Melissa Stewart, and Ian Stewart; and three great-grandchildren, Lochlan, Harrison, and Everett; one sister, Jane Kirkner; and many nieces and nephews. He happily found loving companionship through the years with Dawn Moore and the late Bonnie Angelo.
He was preceded in death by one grandson, Zach Stewart; and four siblings, George Stewart, Fay Buchter, Margaret Pupek and Alberta Schnovel.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend his memorial service in the Campbell-Ennis-Klotzbach Funeral Home, Inc., 610 Main Street, Phoenixville, PA on Wednesday, October 28, 2026 at 11:00 am. Officiating will be Rev. Christian McMullan. A private burial will take place in the Cemetery of the First Presbyterian Church of Port Kennedy, King of Prussia, PA, at a later date. Friends will be received from 10:00 am - 11:00 am at the funeral home on Wednesday morning.
