Darren R. Lenhart, age 50, husband of Wendy S. (Reese) Lenhart, of Pottstown, PA, peacefully crossed over on Monday, October 31, 2016 at home surrounded by his family and beloved dogs. Born on February 10, 1966 in Pottstown, PA, he was a son of MaryJane (Geyer) Lenhart of Henderson, NV and the late Russell Lenhart, Jr.
Darren was a graduate of Pottsgrove High School, and worked as a mechanic for DeWane's Garage and Towing in Collegeville, PA. He was the only crew chief his son ever had in his racing career, which spanned his childhood racing go-karts and asphalt late-model cars. Darren cherished the memories made and time spent as a family at the racetrack. He was very proud and enjoyed all the time spent with his son Cole, and they could often be found wrenching on Darren's Nova or Cole's truck at the house. Darren was hands-on, and would often teach himself a trade so he could be handy around the house. He enjoyed vacationing with his family on their trips to the beach.
In addition to his wife, Darren is survived by one son, Cole Lenhart, and his girlfriend Alyssa Davies of Pottstown; and one sister, Sheri Lenhart-Graham, wife of Doug Graham of Henderson, NV; his beloved dogs, Charlotte and Jethro; and many other family and friends who were a source of love and support for him during his journey.
Following his wishes, a celebration of life service will be scheduled at a later date. Burial will take place privately at the convenience of the family in the Limerick Garden of Memories. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in his name to www.freetobreathe.org. Condolences may be made by visiting www.PhoenixvilleFuneralHome.com. Arrangements are being handled by the Campbell - Ennis - Klotzbach Funeral Home, Inc., Phoenixville, PA.
