Rev. David Conrad Strosahl, 78, died on Saturday, August 22. He was born October 8, 1947 to the late Bernard and Mildred Strosahl.

David spent most of his childhood in Honesdale, PA and attended Mansfield State College where he received his teaching degree. Shortly after graduating, he attended Andover Newton Theological School where he received his Master of Divinity, and was ordained as an American Baptist minister. Dave served American Baptist congregations in Massachusetts, New Hampshire, and Connecticut before retiring to Maine. Dave loved pastoring, taking great joy in walking alongside people through the highs and lows of life. As part of his ministry, Dave especially enjoyed work with the local substance abuse council, interfaith ministerium, national ministers council, and teaching pastors in Haiti.

Upon retirement, Dave began his volunteer role as a Train Host on the Amtrak Downeaster, combining his love of people and trains. In 2019, David moved to PA to be closer to his grandchildren. At that time, he became active in the Pottstown Community Action, local democratic party, and both Royersford Baptist Church and First Baptist Church of Pottstown. He enjoyed reading, walking, cheering for the Red Sox and Patriots, and especially loved model railroading. He loved animals and was preceded in death by many four-legged companions.

Dave was a devoted family man. He was married to his wife Cyndi for 44 years and together they had two children. Dave often spoke of fatherhood as his greatest delight; however, his true joy came as Papa to his beloved grandchildren, Asher David and Ellie Rose. He never missed a soccer game, dance recital, grandparent day, or movie night with his grandkids.

David is remembered as a man with a strong presence and a gentle spirit. He had a booming voice and he was a passionate preacher; he was also a quiet observer with a childlike wonder and quirky sense of humor. Dave had a strong moral compass that steered him to amplify the voices of the vulnerable and use his voice to combat injustice. He never stopped learning and he had a strong sense of creativity and playfulness that was present in all he did.

In addition to his parents, David was preceded in death by his sister, Barbara Jennings. He is survived by his wife, Rev. Cynthia Strosahl; daughter, Rev. Sarah Strosahl-Kagi and son-in-law Joshua Kagi; grandchildren Asher and Ellie Strosahl-Kagi; son Andrew and his wife Jessica; best friend, Rev. Paul Aquavella; his dear niece, Kim Markulis, and many beloved family and friends.

Friends and family will be received from 9:30-10:45 on Saturday, September 26 at Royersford Baptist Church, 452 S. Lewis Road, Royersford, PA.
