Dawn Ebert Bergstresser, died suddenly September 17, 2008, the result of an auto accident.?
Born Dawn June Ebert on April 19, 1926 in Scranton, PA.? ?Dawn, a mother, grandmother, wife, and English teacher, was a graduate of Susquehanna University. She taught for many years at Perkiomen Valley Middle School and continued tutoring students during her retirement.? Dawn, and her late husband, The Reverend John Benjamin Bergstresser, were founding members of Freedom Church.? Following Ben's death in 1999, Dawn continued her pivotal role at Freedom as 'pastor's wife' completing all those tasks necessary to keep a church running smoothly.? In addition to her church work and tutoring, Dawn was an active member of the Conversation Club of Norristown.?
Dawn is survived by: her daughters, Janice Bergstresser of Royersford, and Laurie Johnson and her husband, Rick Johnson, of Sewickley, PA; her sons, Jon Bergstresser and wife, Beth, of Lynn, MA, James Bergstresser and wife, Judith, of Schwenksville; three granddaughters, Christy (daughter of Jon and Beth), Amy and Carrie (daughters of Jim and Judy); and her sister, Doris, wife of Reverend John Kinzel of Shannondell at Valley Forge. She was predeceased by her husband, Ben, her youngest son, Reverend Alan Bergstresser, and ?her brother, Bernard Ebert.?
The memorial service will be held at 1PM Sunday, September 28th at Freedom Church, 764 Mennonite Road, Royersford, PA 19468. The memorial service will be preceded with a visitation period from Noon to 1PM.? Visitors are encouraged and welcome to attend the regularly scheduled Sunday worship service at Freedom at 10:45AM.?
