Donald Carl Anderson, 85, husband of Lois (Edmunds) Anderson, of Phoenixville, passed away on Tuesday, December 2, 2014, in the Jefferson Hospital for Neuroscience, Philadelphia. Born in Pittsburgh, he was a son of the late Hjalmar and Astrid (Carlen) Anderson.

A 1955 graduate of Officer Candidate School in Newport, RI, Mr. Anderson served in the United States Navy. He was honorably discharged in 1959 with the rank of Lieutenant. He also received a bachelor’s degree in aerospace engineering from the University of Chicago.

Mr. Anderson had been employed as an aerospace engineer for Goodyear Aircraft in Akron, OH, prior to his employment with General Electric Aerospace Division in Philadelphia and King of Prussia.

A handyman, he enjoyed fixing up his home, gardening and sailing, having owned a few sailboats over the years. Most importantly, Mr. Anderson loved time spent with family.

In addition to his loving wife of 59 years, Mr. Anderson is survived by his children, Susan C. Anderson, of Phoenixville and David R., husband of Victoria E. Anderson, of Downingtown; brother, Robert Anderson, of Houston; and grandchildren, Rane and Sailor Anderson.
