Donald B. Fort, age 76, husband of Nancy L. (Smith) Fort of Phoenixville, PA, passed away on Thursday, November 2, 2023 in the Arden Courts of King of Prussia. Born on August 14, 1947 in Phoenixville, PA, he was a son of the late Charles and Ruth (Mengel) Fort.

Mr. Fort attended Audubon Elementary School and was a 1966 graduate of Methacton High School. He continued his education after graduation by enrolling in a 6-month computer training program through IBM in Philadelphia.

Prior to completion of the course, Mr. Fort joined the Army in October of 1966. He completed basic training at Ft. Gordon, GA, and he tied for top honors in his unit during secondary training at Ft. Huachuca, AZ. His yearlong deployment to Vietnam began in March of 1967, where he was engaged in the horrific defense of the Tan Son Nhut Airbase in Saigon during the Tet Offensive. He spent the remaining 18-months of his enlistment in Frankfurt and Stuttgart, Germany until he was honorably discharged in September 1969.

He began working at National Rolling Mills in Malvern, PA in June 1970, where he served as a quality control inspector. He continued in this capacity during his employment at GE Aerospace in King of Prussia, PA, which eventually became Lockheed-Martin, where he worked until his retirement.

For 38 years, Mr. Fort was a faithful member of Calvary Bible Church, now New Story Church, in Schuylkill Township. He served as a Deacon, sang in the choir, taught Sunday School, and was involved with Children's Church and Olympians.

In addition to his wife of 46 years, Mr. Fort is survived by two brothers, Noel "Chris" Fort, husband of Lynda, and Doug Fort, husband of Sheryl; and many nieces, nephews, great-nieces, and great-nephews. He was preceded in death by two siblings, Karen Meister and Gary Fort.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend his funeral service at the Campbell-Ennis-Klotzbach Funeral Home, Inc., 610 Main Street, Phoenixville, PA on Wednesday, November 8, 2023 at 11:00 AM. Officiating will be Pastor Paul Anderson. Burial will follow in the Philadelphia Memorial Park, Malvern, PA. Friends will be received from 9:30 AM-11:00 AM at funeral home on Wednesday morning. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in his name to the New Story Church, 110 Valley Park Road, Phoenixville, PA 19460.
