Donald W. Irey, 79, of Spring City, PA passed away on Sunday, April 25, 2010 at home after a recent illness. He was the husband of Janet (DeWalt) Wright Irey and the late Joan (Batchelor) Irey.

He was born in Phoenixville to the late Adolph and Bertha (Sims) Irey. He was a 1950 graduate of Spring City High School and was employed for 58 years as a florist and driver for Batchelor's Flowers, Snowdenville, PA.

Donald was a life member and former Asst. Chief for the Ridge Fire Company. He also was an assistant Scoutmaster of the Kimberton Boy Scouts.

In addition to his wife of 12 years he is survived by a daughter: Caroline D. Springer and husband Craig, of Spring City; son, Brian W. Irey and wife Angela, of Birdsboro; step-daughter, Mary Taney and husband Lawrence, of Pottstown; step-sons: David Wright and wife Catherine, of Pottstown, Paul Wright and wife Rachele, of Spring City, Mark Wright, of Spring City; sisters: Clara Kelley widow of Noah, of Pottstown; Betty Shantz widow of Henry, of Phoenixville; Patricia Shantz widow of Arthur, of Zion's Grove, PA; grandchildren: Rebecca and Bethany Springer, Jennifer and Amanda Irey; step-granchildren: Jennifer Bartley, Melanie Wright, Christin Fareri, Corey Taney, Adam and Zachary Wright and four step-great-grandchildren and many nieces and nephews. He was also precede in death by a brother, Oliver Sims.

His Graveside Service will be held on Wednesday, April 28, 2010 at East Vincent UCC Cemetery, Rt. 23, Spring City, PA at 11 AM.
