Donald V. "Donny" Long, age 75, of Royersford, PA, passed away on Tuesday, December 5, 2023 in the Phoenixville Hospital. Born in Phoenixville, he was the son of the late Harriet E. (Smith) and Donald H. Long.

Donny was a graduate of Williamson Trade School and continued his education at Millersville University. He was a full-time officer with the Royersford Borough Police Department from 1974 until his retirement on December 31, 2008. He was a volunteer firefighter for Humane Fire Company, a life member of Friendship Fire Company, a member of the FOP Lodge #14, and former support staff member of the Cattermole - Klotzbach Funeral Home. He enjoyed sports and watching Flyers, Phillies, Steelers, and college basketball games. He loved spending time with his grandchildren.

Donny is survived by his five children, Jeff (Jennine) Long, Kara Shuler, John (Rose) Long, Jason (Sarah) Long, Joel Long; his seven grandchildren, Shaun, Marcus, Connor, Zachary, Mason, Maddalena, Layla, his great-granddaughter, Eloise-Kate; his siblings, Janet Short, Ronald Long, and Richard Long. He was preceded in death by a sister, Karen Falini.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend his funeral service at the Cattermole-Klotzbach Funeral Home, 600 Washington Street, Royersford, PA on Tuesday, December 12, 2023 at 11:00 AM. Burial services will follow in the Fernwood Cemetery, Royersford, PA. Friends will be received at the funeral home on Monday evening, December 11, 2023 from 6:00 PM- 8:00 PM and again on Tuesday morning from 9:00 AM - 10:45 AM.
