Obituary

Donald McCoy, age 101, husband of Carrie A. (Clapsaddle) McCoy, of Phoenixville, PA, passed away on Saturday, December 3, 2022 at home. Born in Norristown, PA, he was a son of the late Albert and Louise (Cook) McCoy.

Mr. McCoy was a graduate of Norristown High School. He honorably served in the Army Air Force. He retired after a 35 year career working as a welder for the Budd Company. Following retirement, he continued to work as a school bus driver for the Phoenixville School District, driving countless sports teams, especially the tennis team, over the years.

Mr. McCoy was a faithful, lifelong member of St. Paul's Episcopal Church in Oaks, PA, where he served many years as the church Sexton. He was also an active volunteer for the Spring-Ford Project Outreach.

Mr. McCoy was an avid sports fan of the Philadelphia teams, particularly the Philadelphia Phillies. Along with his wife, he would travel each year to Spring Training in Clearwater, FL. In addition to sports, he loved camping, dancing, and bowling.

In addition to his wife, Mr. McCoy is survived by four children, Kathy, wife of Floyd Hall of Alexandria, VA, Penny Altieri of Schwenskville, PA, Donna Musetti of Spring City, PA, and Christopher, husband of Ieva McCoy of Phoenixville, PA; seven grandchildren, Matthew, Sarah (Billy), Adam, Zakry (Danielle), Sean, Taylor, and Christie; two great-grandchildren, Lettie and William; one sister, Naomi Ruth of Norristown, PA; and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by two siblings, Helen and Bentley.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend his memorial service in the St. Paul's Episcopal Church, 126 Black Road Road, Oaks, PA on Monday, December 12, 2022 at 11:00 AM. Officiating will be Rev. Jeremiah Mustered. Burial will follow in the Church cemetery. Friends will be received from 10:00 am - 10:45 am in the Church. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in his name to the Spring-Ford Project Outreach, 410 Washington Street, Royersford, PA 19468 or to the St. Paul's Episcopal Church at the address above.
