Donald K. Overdorf, age 96, husband of the late Doris E. (Mowrey) Overdorf, of Royersford, PA, formerly Spring City, PA passed away on Tuesday, October 16, 2018 in the Sanatoga Court. Born on July 7, 1922 in East Vincent Township, he was a son of the late Clifford H. and Mary (Keeley) Overdorf.

Mr. Overdorf was a 1940 graduate of the former Spring City High School. He served in the United States Army during World War II, where he received a Purple Heart. He retired after 41 years as a truck driver for the Jones Motor Company in Spring City, PA, and was a member of the Teamsters Local 384. In 1959, he received a safety achievement award from the Pennsylvania Motor Truck Association, presented by Mayor Richardson Dilworth, honoring him for 360,000 miles as a driver for the Jones Motor Company. He was proud to have retired with never having an accident in his career. During his high school years, he excelled at baseball and football. In his later years, he enjoyed playing in several golf leagues.

Mr. Overdorf is survived by one daughter, Linda L., wife of Richard L. Detwiler of Upper Providence Township, PA; two granddaughters, Kristen L. Detwiler of East Coventry and Meredith L., wife of Joseph Bozzuto of Limerick; one great-grandson, Hudson L. Bozzuto; one sister, Mae, wife of the late Robert McCullough of East Coventry; one niece and two nephews. He was preceded in death by one daughter, Carol Ann Overdorf.

At Mr. Overdorf's request, his graveside service will take place privately, with immediate family only, in the Zion Lutheran Church Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in his name to the Compassus Hospice, 601 W. Office Center Drive, Ste. 125, Ft. Washington, PA 19034.
