Donald M. Schantz, age 89, husband of Louise A. (Gable) Schantz of East Pikeland Township, Pennsylvania, passed away on Friday, December 15, 2023 in the Phoenixville Hospital. Born on January 6, 1934, in East Greenville, he was the son of the late Laura M. (Dunn) and Ralph Schantz.

A graduate of East Greenville High School, Donald enlisted in the Army Security Agency and served honorably in the United States Army during the Korean War. He later worked for 3 years as an apprentice brick layer before 27 years of employment at BF Goodrich in Oaks, until the plant closed.

Donald and his wife later went into collecting and selling antiques at shows all around the East Coast. In his free time, he enjoyed fishing, bowling, hunting and was an avid sports fan.

In addition to his loving wife of 70 years, Donald is survived by his children: Barbara L. Groller and her husband Christopher and Donald M. Schantz Jr., and his wife Susan; grandchildren: Christopher Groller, Jason Groller, Donald Schantz, Lori Grebe, and Aaron Murphy; and great-grandsons: Dylan, Colby and Lucas Groller.

Services will be held privately for Donald's family. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in Donald's name to the First United Church of Christ Spring City, 145 Chestnut Street, Spring City, PA 19475.
