Donald E. Smith, 95, husband of Norma J. (Zimmerman) Smith, of Harleysville, PA and formerly of Phoenixville, PA passed away on Saturday, September 8, 2018 at his home.

Born on May 30, 1923 in Oaks, Pennsylvania, he was a son of the late Earl and Edna (Famous) Smith. He was a graduate of Ursinus College with a Bachelor's Degree in Mathematics. A veteran, he served for the U.S. Navy during the World War II.

Mr. Smith worked as an Engineer and Materials Test Specialist for General Electric Aerospace Division in Philadelphia before retiring. He was a member of Green Tree Church of the Brethren, Oaks, PA.


In addition to his wife of 70 years, he is survived by Two Daughters, Kathy Clark of Schwenksville, PA: Nancy J. (David) Sandy of Wilmington, NC; Brother, Karlton (Peg) Smith of Phoenixville, PA; Grandchildren: Jeremy Fleming, Carson Sandy, Dylan Szczepanski, Justin Clark and Caitlin Hilton; Great-grandchildren, Anna Claire, Hoyt and Ellie Batton Fleming, and Autumn Hilton.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend the Funeral Ceremony at Green Tree Church of the Brethren, 1078 Egypt Road, Oaks, PA on Wednesday, September 12, 2018 at 11:00 am. Officiating will be Rev. J. Rodney O'Donnell. Burial will be held in the Green Tree Cemetery, Oaks, Pennsylvania. Friends will be received from 9:45 am - 10:45 am Wednesday at the church.
