Donald Smith, 75, of Douglassville, PA died on Thursday, January 29, 2015 at Manor Care-Pottstown, where he had been a guest for three weeks. He was the husband of Shirley (Mosteller) Smith, to whom he was married for thirty-one years.
He was born in Brooklyn to the late David and Anna (Horman) Smith. He was an Army veteran serving in Vietnam and Germany. Mr. Smith was employed as a maintenance mechanic at Drexel University, Univ. of Valley Forge, Pennhurst, Morelli Brothers and Rosemont College.
He was a member of Grace Assembly of God, Spring City, PA.
In addition to his wife, he is survived by his children: Michael S. Smith (Brenda), of Minnesota; Dorothy Turner, of Virginia; Step-Son: Robert C. Hunsberger Jr. (Nicole), of Boyertown; siblings: Esther Harper (Hadres), of Tennessee; Russell Smith (Carolyn) and Paul Smith (Tina), both of New York; grandchildren: Amberly Grace Turner, of Virginia; and Mary Maurer of Wyomissing and many nieces and nephews. He was also predeceased by sisters: Judy Smith and Anna Westcott.
A service will be held on Wednesday, February 4, 2015 at 11:00 AM at Grace Assembly of God, 1271 W. Bridge St. Spring City, PA 19475. Officiating will be Rev. J. Clayton Sheridan III. Calling time is from 10-11 AM. Burial will be private. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Donald Smith Memorial Fund, C/O Customers Bank, 99 Bridge St. Phoenixville, PA 19460.
