Doris J. (Gerrin) Tyson, 88, wife of the late Harrison S. Tyson Sr., of Royersford, formerly Kolb Road, Parker Ford, passed away on Thursday, August 13, 2009, in the Phoenixville Hospital. Born in Royersford, she was a daughter of the late Florence (Blackburn) and John Gerrin.

Mrs. Tyson attended Royersford Schools, and was a member of the Parker Ford Church of the Brethren for about 70 years. She was a homemaker and was employed at the former Prizers Greenhouse in Parker Ford for over 30 years. Her family was her priority, and she loved spending time with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Mrs. Tyson is survived by her daughter, Joan, wife of Larry L. Martin, of Southern Pines, NC, son, Harrison S. Tyson Jr., husband of Mary Beth Thoms of Strafford, 3 grandchildren, Larry Martin Jr., Melissa Acton, and Michelle Gottfried, Eight great-grandchildren, Madeline, Abigael, Emily, Reese, Lainey, Isabelle, Tyson, and Maddox, and one brother, William T. Gratz, of Punta Gorda, FL.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend her memorial service at the Parker Ford Church of the Brethren, Rinehart Road and Old Schuylkill Road, Pottstown, PA, on Monday, August 17, 2009, at 2:00 p.m. Officiating will be the Rev. Robert M. Latshaw. Interment will be held privately at the convenience of the family.
