Obituary

Dorothea Azelma Urner, age 95, born in Baltimore, Maryland, March 9, 1914, was the daughter of William and Rachael Williams. She and her younger brother, William Jr., lived most of their young years in Royersford, PA. Dorothea met her future husband, Raymond, while attending the Church of the Nazarene in Royersford. They were married at a 6:00 a.m. sunrise wedding ceremony on September 10, 1935. They had three children - David, Mariana and Suzana. She lived most of her married life in Oaks, PA.

She devoted her life to doing church work, especially in the foreign missions department. Through her creative programming and her genuine and heartfelt love for missions she inspired many people to share with those from other lands. Dorothea also loved gardening and preparing and serving wonderful meals for her family and guests.

During the middle years of her life, Dot, as many of her friends called her, fulfilled a desire to continue her education. She graduated valedictorian of her nursing program and was employed by Phoenixville Hospital. Her favorite pastime during the last few years of her life was continuing a very active correspondence and keeping in touch with many friends from all over the United States. She also was an avid reader and enjoyed listening to books on tapes. To be near their daughters, Raymond and Dorothea relocated to New England in 1987. They became members and attended the Beverly Nazarene Church in Beverly, MA.

Dorothea leaves behind her children, David and his wife, Barbara (Burns) Urner of Royersford, PA, Mariana and her husband, Jack, Laudermilk of Duxbury, MA and Suzana and her husband, David Lindsay of Beverly, MA, six grandchildren, five great grandchildren and many, many beloved friends.

Dorothea A. Urner went to be with the Lord on March 5, 2010. She was a patient at the Ledgewood Rehabilitation and Skilled Nursing Center in Beverly, MA.
