Obituary

Dorothy Marie "Dottie" Chrisman, age 89, wife of Paul Chrisman, of Spring City, Pennsylvania, passed away peacefully on Monday, November 26, 2018 in Woodbridge Place, Phoenixville PA. Born on February 9, 1929 in Norristown, Pennsylvania, she was the daughter of the late Paul Edwards and Alta (Walley) Edwards McPherson, and stepdaughter of the late Robert McPherson.

Dottie was involved in many community groups in which she was very proud to serve. During her lifetime, she was the chairperson of the Phoenixville High School Class Reunion, Class of 1947 for more than 50 years, and taught 4H sewing for over 10 years to many young adults in the community. She enjoyed gathering with the ladies of the Embroidery Guild of America where they spent many hours cross-stitching together. In her spare time she loved attending shows at the Valley Forge Music Fair, and traveling to Branson, Missouri, with her husband. She was a member of St. John’s UCC in Phoenixville. Dottie was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, great‑grandmother, and dear friend to all and she will be missed by many.

In addition to her husband of 69 years, Dottie is survived by her daughter, Cindy J. Kirby; her son, Paul R. "Chris" (Mary) Chrisman; four granddaughters, Heather M. Kirby, Jillian E. (Prince) Kemmerlin, Deborah A. Chrisman, and Jennifer M. (Jared) Schoenly; Dottie is also survived by her great‑granddaughter, Katelyn E. Schoenly, and loving nieces, great nieces and nephews.

In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her sister, Elizabeth (Betty) Friday.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend the Funeral Service at Campbell‑Ennis‑Klotzbach Funeral Home, Inc, 610 South Main Street, Phoenixville, Pennsylvania on Monday, December 3, 2018 at 11:00 am. Burial will be held in the Zion Lutheran Church Cemetery, Spring City, Pennsylvania. Friends will be received from 10:00 am ‑ 11:00 am Monday at the Campbell‑Ennis‑Klotzbach Funeral Home, Inc. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in her name, payable to Phoenixville Area High School, Attn: Maren Bhalla‑ Counseling Office, 1200 Gay Street, Phoenixville, PA 19460 with Memo: Larry Detwiler Memorial Award.
