Dorothy Marie Heil, age 86, wife of Norbert J. Heil Sr., of Wayne, PA, was chosen to begin her exciting journey to embrace her Heavenly Father the morning of Ascension Thursday, May 13, 2021. Born on November 4, 1934 in Philadelphia, PA, she was the daughter of the late Joseph and Mary (Danilovich) Gresko.

Dorothy was a 1951 graduate of Little Flower High School in Philadelphia. She loved being a Homemaker with a happy work ethic and engaging personality. Once her children were raised, she would become the original Sr. Office Manager of Eggland's Best in King of Prussia, and later she would fulfill her lifelong dream of owning her own Home Boutique Shop, D.J. Starrberry’s in Kimberton. Dorothy worshiped at both Our Lady of Assumption in Wayne and Mother of Divine Providence in King of Prussia. She enjoyed woodworking, oil painting, antiquing and decorating. Through the years the three family Labradors and pet Canadian goose, “Nipper,” (from an abandoned egg and hatched in the family oven) brought much joy to her heart. Dorothy was an altruistic, nurturing and caring wife and mother who cherished the time spent with her family, especially the summer vacations at Cape May and Chincoteague.

In addition to her husband of 63 years, Dorothy is survived by three children, Norbert J. Jr., husband of Peggy Heil of East Hampton, CT, James R. Heil, and Judith M., wife of Timothy Colligan of Ellicott City, MD; four grandchildren, Jakkelyn, wife of Keith Dickey, Norbert J. Heil III, Noelle Colligan, and Timothy Colligan, Jr.; two great-grandsons, Judah and Reed Dickey; and two sisters, Eleanor Peterson and Joan Granville. Dorothy was also preceded in death by three siblings, Florence Alexander, Maryanne Davis, and Joseph Gresko Jr.

Because of Dorothy and Norb’s 53 years residence surrounded by the natural beauty and history of Valley Forge, especially their daily “date” drives through the Park, she will be laid to rest at the Washington Memorial Chapel Churchyard, Valley Forge, Pennsylvania. The family has chosen to hold a private service at this time.
