Dorothy Mae (Gebhardt) Huber, 84, widow of the late Howard P. "Sonny" Huber Sr., of Oaks, passed away on Wednesday, March 3, 2010, in her residence. Born in Phoenixville, she was a daughter of the late Harvey and Anne Gebhardt.
Mrs. Huber lived most of her life in the Oaks area and was a member of the Green Tree Church of the Brethren where she spent many years working with the children's Sunday school program. She retired in 1992 from the Allstate Insurance Co., Devon, where she was a supervisor teaching new agents. Dorothy enjoyed spending time traveling, cruising, dancing, singing, picnics, and holiday parties with the entire family. As much love as she gave it was returned in infinite measure.
Mrs. Huber is survived by one daughter, Dorothy "Dolly" Moyer of Phoenixville, daughter-in-law, Sally Huber of Collegeville, grandchildren, Heather L, wife of David McGuigan of Collegeville, Aimee wife of Zachary Bailey of Pottstown, and John Huber of Collegeville, great-grandchildren, Shaylee and Rory McGuigan and Dane and Lacee Mae Bailey, sisters, Arlene Quay of Phoenixville, Sarah Tyrpin of Fredericksburg, Barbara Mossie of Phoenixville and Helen Joan Turner of Oaks, and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her son, Howard P. Huber Jr., and by one granddaughter, Morgan McGuigan and sister, Elizabeth Kling.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend Mrs. Huber's funeral service at the Green Tree Church of the Brethren, 1078 Egypt Road, Oaks, PA, on Saturday, March 6, 2010, at 10:30 a.m. Officiating will be the Rev. David A. Leiter. Burial will follow in the Church Cemetery. Friends will be received from 9:00-10:15 a.m. at the Church. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the children's playground fund with the Green Tree Church of the Brethren.
