Dorthea L. (Daniels) DeFusco (Dot), age 87, wife of the late Vincent John DeFusco Jr., of Spring City, Pennsylvania, passed away on Saturday, May 24, 2025. Born on June 27, 1937, in Sparta, Wisconsin, she was the only child of the late Irene (Greeno) Yanchek and Lawrence Daniels.
A Class of 1955 graduate of Phoenixville High School, Dot had been employed at Colonial Gardens, in Phoenixville, where she managed the greenhouses, designed floral arrangements and created the characters seen at Pumpkinland during Halloween. She was a member of the Spring City American Legion Post 602 where she loved playing the skill machines and showing off pictures of her beloved cat, Phoenix.
Dorthea had a passion for flowers and the color pink as well as a love for sweets, especially ice cream and cookies. She was a proper, modest woman, who attended modeling school in her younger years. Dot and her husband Vince were inseparable, as it was rare to see one without the other. Married for 64 years, they loved to go dancing, play cards, and enjoyed time spent with their many friends.
Dorthea is survived by her children: Vincent J. DeFusco III, husband of Diane, Brenda L. Leister, wife of Robert, Daniel A. DeFusco, husband of Gail, and Mark A. DeFusco, husband of Nancy; grandchildren: Linette, Sam, Taryn, and Larissa; and her beloved cat: Phoenix.
A celebration of Dot's life will be held on Sunday, June 15, 2025, at 1:00 pm at the Spring City American Legion Post 602, 25 N. Main Street, Spring City. Please bring your favorite stories and memories to share.
