Rev. Dr. Charles N. Forsberg, of Royersford, PA died at his home on Monday evening at the age of 86. He was the husband of Genevieve (Donaldson) Forsberg.
Born in Ogema, WI, he was a son of the late Axel C. and Genevieve (Nelson) Forsberg. He was a graduate of Prentice High School, Prentice, WI, University of Wisconsin, Colgate-Rochester Seminary, and he received his Doctorate from Ottawa University.
He was an ordained minister in the American Baptist Church. He served parishes in New York, Massachusetts, Wisconsin, Illinois, and Pennsylvania. He also served as Area Minister for the Massachusetts Baptist Convention and Executive Director of the Ministers Council of The American Baptist Churches USA, in Valley Forge, PA. In retirement he counseled churches and clergy during crisis situations. He also found time to make and repair golf clubs, play golf, and for woodworking. He also served on the Perkiomen Valley Academy Board of Directors for 20 years.
In addition to his wife of 63 years he is survived by: two daughters; Lynn and Lahna, four sons; David, Dean, Dale and Darrel, nine grandchildren and six great-grandchildren. He was also preceded in death by a sister Jean Gordon.
A visitation will be held at the Royersford Baptist Church, 452 S. Lewis Rd, Royersford, PA 19468 on Friday evening from 6:00 to 8:00 PM. A memorial service will follow at the church on Saturday at 4:00 PM. Officiating will be the Rev. Marcia Ricketts. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Pulmonary Fibrosis Foundation, 1332 North Halsted Street, Suite 201, Chicago, IL 60622.
