E. Janet (Pawling) Hassler, age 94, of Wernersville, PA, formerly of Riverview Park, died Sunday evening, May 29, 2011 in the Phoebe Berks Center, Wernersville, PA. Born in Mohnton, PA, she was the daughter of the late Mr and Mrs. Arthur B. Pawling. Mrs. Hassler had a love of music and children. In early years, Mrs. Hassler was very involved in the children's ministry and music at the Faith Evangelical Congregation Church in Temple, PA. She then joined the First Evangelical Congregational Church in Reading. She was also a school teacher for many years in the Reading area. More recently Mrs. Hassler had been playing the piano at the services at the Phoebe Berks Center where she had been a resident.

Mrs. Hassler is survived by many friends and those she developed relationships with at her Church.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend the Graveside service at the Laureldale Cemetery, 4631 Pottsville Pike, Reading, PA 19605 on Friday afternoon, June 3, 2011 at 2:00 PM. Officiating will be the Rev. John P. Ragsdale. In lieu of flowers, memorial gifts may be made to the First Evangelical Congregational Church, 18 North 8th Street, Reading, PA 19601-3602.
