Edith W. (Compton) Dewees, age 93, wife of the late William Dewees, of East Coventry Township, PA died Monday evening, July 14th, 2008 in the Phoenixville Hospital, Phoenixville, PA.? Born in Manoa, PA, she was a daughter of the late Arthur C. and Amy (Winward) Compton.? Mrs. Dewees attended the Marple-Newtown High School.? She worked as an artist for the Dettra Flag Company in Oaks, PA.? Mrs. Dewees was a member of the Royersford Church of the Nazarene for many years.? She volunteered her time to knit caps for newborns at Phoenixville Hospital.? She also did needle work, making blankets for many friends and family.? She was a avid Eagles and Phillies fan.?
Mrs. Dewees is survived by two daughters; Edith M., wife of Albert L. Toth, of Reading, PA, Fay V., wife of James J. Heffernen, of Plymouth Meeting, PA, one son; W. Richard deWees, of Parkerford, PA, one sister; Alice V. Palen, of Prospect, CT, one brother; Arthur C. Compton, Jr., of West Chester, PA, eight grandchildren, eight great-grandchildren, four great-great-grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews.? Relatives and friends are invited to attend the Funeral Service at the Campbell - Ennis - Klotzbach Funeral Home, Inc., Main Street at Fifth Avenue, Phoenixville, PA on Friday morning, July 18th, 2008 at 10:30AM.?
