Edith D. Duranto, age 94, of Phoenixville, PA, passed away on Monday, June 2, 2025 at home. Prior to his passing in 1983, she was the loving wife of 33 years to the late Dominic L. Duranto. Born on February 14, 1931 in Willistown Township, she was the daughter of the late Della M. (Jenkins) and Edward J. Mahoney, Sr.
Mrs. Duranto was a graduate of Tredyffrin-Easttown High School. She worked as a bookkeeper for various businesses in the West Chester, PA area; most notable to her, Montgomery Ward Retail Store.
Mrs. Duranto was an active and faithful member of Bethel United Methodist Church in Spring City, where she volunteered at Vacation Bible School and looked forward to spending time with her church lady friends. For over 30 years, she served as the treasurer for Good Fellowship Ambulance, where her husband was one of the founding members.
Mrs. Duranto enjoyed bowling, golfing, and crabbin' on the Chesapeake in Tolchester, MD. She also enjoyed taking road-trips "up country" to Farm Wagon Produce in East Earl, PA. Cooking for family and friends brought her great joy, and she took pride in sharing finished products of her pasta, pasta fagioli, biscotti, and pizzelles. Most importantly, however, she cherished spending time with her granddaughter Jena, oftentimes shopping and traveling.
Mrs. Duranto is survived by her daughter, Patti, wife of Bob Verish; her granddaughter, Jena, wife of David Brandt; many nieces and nephews; and her beloved four-legged companion, Jocco. In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by one brother, Edward Mahoney Jr.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend her funeral service at Campbell-Ennis-Klotzbach Funeral Home, Inc., 610 Main Street, Phoenixville, PA on Monday, June 9, 2025 at 11:00 AM. Officiating will be Rev. John Keretzman II. Burial will be held privately at the convenience of the family in the Green Mount Cemetery. Friends will be received from 9:00 AM-11:00 AM in the funeral home on Monday morning.
