Edward G. Gillam
July 26, 1961 - February 2, 2025
This obituary is for my "baby" brother, Ed, which I write with love and God's blessings.
Ed was born to Ronald Gillam (deceased) and Margaret (deceased) at Paoli Hospital, Paoli, PA on July 26, 1961. Ed is also predeceased by our brother Richard D. Gillam.
Ed is survived by his sister Donna (Gillam) Law and her husband Byron of Cape Coral FL, and by our dear and cherished longtime friend, Frank (Chet) Wurtz of Audubon, PA. Ed resided in Audubon, PA prior to his death.
Ed passed away peacefully on Sunday evening, after a lengthy illness. Sunday is a "day made by the Lord" and so Ed was taken to the Heavens on a Sunday. Fitting timing to us.
After attending Phoenixville High School, Ed was a former owner in a partnership Catering Foods. He loved to cook, and was very good at it. Ed enjoyed trying new dishes and sauces and always preparing whatever the occasion he was catering to be as festive and wonderful as possible for his clients.
Gardening, reading, and pets were three of Ed's favorite joys. He also enjoyed watching and feeding the birds in his backyard while having coffee in the morning or after dinner coffee in the evening. He also enjoyed having us over for dinner and playing Dominoes, Trivial Pursuit and other card games with us.
Ed had a heart full of love and kindness. He had many friends and he was always willing to help anyone in need at anytime. Sometimes listening and sometimes giving advice.
Ed will be missed by many. He will always be loved by us and we will see him when it is our time to pass from earth to Heaven with God.
Heavenly Father, we thank you for reminding us that there is a time for everything, a season for every activity under heaven. Help us to trust in your perfect timing to embrace the moments of joy, and of sorrow, with grace; and to find peace knowing that you own control of all things.
In Jesus' name, AMEN
