Edward Lake, age 84, husband of Shirley A. (Ruth) Lake, of Saint Stephen, SC, passed away on Wednesday, November 12, 2025 in hospice care. Born on June 18, 1941 in Wilmington, DE, he was a son of the late Marshall E. and Elizabeth (Jacobs) Lake.
Mr. Lake attended the Kennett Square School District before enlisting in the United States Navy, honorably serving in the Mediterranean from 1959-1962. He worked as a steamfitter for the Steamfitters Local Union 420 in Philadelphia. Mr. Lake was a faithful member of Valley Forge Baptist in Collegeville, PA and the Life Baptist Church in Saint Stephen, SC.
Ed married Shirley on the beach in Hawaii in 1991. They had resided in Sanatoga, PA prior to spending several years in Florida, followed by Tennessee where they owned and operated a local campground. Since 2004, they have called South Carolina home. Mr. Lake was an avid outdoorsman and was a passionate hunter and fisherman.
In addition to his wife, Mr. Lake is survived by three children, Ida Marie Brackin, Michael Edward Lake, and Stephanie Lynn Lake, wife of John; six grandchildren, four great-grandchildren and one great-grandchild on the way.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend his viewing at the Cattermole-Klotzbach Funeral Home, 600 Washington Street, Royersford, PA on Tuesday night, November 18, 2025 from 6:30 PM - 8:00 PM. All are also welcome to attend his memorial service to be held at Valley Forge Baptist, 616 S. Trappe Road, Collegeville, PA on Thursday, November 20, 2025 at 11:00 AM. Officiating will be Pastor Scott E. Wendal and Pastor Alfred Willis. Burial will follow in the Riverside Cemetery, West Norriton, PA.
