Edward J. Maksimoski's Obituary
Edward J. "Max" Maksimoski, age 77, husband of Maureen (McLaren) Maksimoski of Phoenixville, PA, passed away on Sunday, June 25, 2023 in the Phoenixville Hospital. Born on October 31, 1945 in Northampton, MA, he was a son of the late Edward and Victoria (Zanieski) Maksimoski.
Max was a graduate of Bishop O'Connell High School in Arlington, VA. He received his Bachelor's degree in Education from Villanova University in 1968, and he worked as a quality control manager for Devault Foods for 22 years. He was a faithful member of St. Ann Catholic Church in Phoenixville. Max honorably served aboard submarines in the United States Navy for 5 years.
As an avid reader and writer, he enthusiastically visited the Phoenixville Library daily, reading the newspapers and periodicals. He loved exploring the county on his bike, and working on and completing a variety of projects around the house brought him a great sense of pride. Max was a self-proclaimed history buff and enjoyed learning about the civil war. He was knowledgeable about countless topics, and he enjoyed discussing, and debating, as a source of learning and gaining that knowledge.
In addition to his wife, Max is survived by two step-daughters, Elizabeth, wife of Jack Welch Jr. and Jennifer, wife of Michael DeLanoy; four grandchildren, Sophie, Caroline, Jack, and Melissa; a brother-in-law, Charles Spasaro; and a niece and nephew, Paul Spasaro and Stephanie Smith. He was preceded in death by a sister, Phyllis.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend his memorial mass in the St. Ann Chapel, 604 Main Street, Phoenixville, PA 19460 on Friday, July 7, 2023 at 11:00 am. Officiating will be Rev. Daniel Arechabala. Burial will be held privately. Friends will be received from 10:00 am - 11:00 am in the Chapel on Friday morning. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in his name to the Phoenixville Public Library by visiting phoenixvillelibrary.org/donate or to the Brandywine Valley SPCA by visiting bvspca.org/donate. Arrangements are being handled by the Campbell - Ennis - Klotzbach Funeral Home, Inc., Phoenixville, PA. Condolences may be offered online at www.PhoenixvilleFuneralHome.com.
