Edward Ravis, age 84, of Phoenixville, PA, where he lived all of his life, died Sunday morning, March 2, 2008 in the Devon Manor.?

Born in Phoenixville, he was a son of the late Alexander Ravis, Sr., and the late Julia (Lukacs) Ravis.? He was a 1941 graduate of the Phoenixville High School.? A veteran, Mr. Ravis served for the U.S. Army during World War II, where he received the Purple Heart and two bronze stars.? Mr. Ravis worked in the sales and production department of the Raturn Hosiery Mill in Phoenixville, and later the Production and control manager for the Danco Tool and Mold Company in Phoenixville.? He was a member of the Parkside United Church of Christ in Phoenixville.? Mr. Ravis enjoyed fishing and was a member of the Phoenixville American Legion, Post 0482, a life member of the West End Fire Company and the Phoenixville Moose # 1273.?

Mr. Ravis is survived by one brother; William, husband of Ethel (Cengeri) Ravis, of Phoenixville, many nieces, nephews, great nieces and great nephews.? He was pre-deceased by three brothers; Alexander Jr., Joseph and John Ravis.??
