Edward T. "Rip" Rowan Jr., 77, husband of Beverly (Andes) Rowan, of Royersford, passed away on Sunday, April 17, 2011, in the Broomall Nursing and Rehabilitation Center. Born in Phoenixville, he was the son of the late and Anna (Natale) and Edward T. Rowan Sr.
Mr. Rowan attended Phoenixville High School, where he played baseball and football. He was employed as a meat manager at A&P, Safeway, and most recently Genuardi's before his retirement. Rip was an avid golfer and bowler.
In addition to his loving wife, Mr. Rowan is survived by two daughters: Michele wife of Nicholas Bilinski of Boyertown and Maria Mei of Phoenix, AZ; two sons: Timothy and Daniel Rowan, both of Phoenix, AZ; one sister: Kathleen wife of Norbert Metz of Spring City, six grandchildren; three great grandchildren; step-daughter: Lori wife of Matt Mishler, of Torrance, CA and his former wife, Shirley (Yerk) Rowan, of Phoenix, AZ. He was preceded in death by an infant sister, Marie Rowan.
Mr. Rowan enjoyed the time he lived in Arizona. His cremains will be scattered in the wind over beautiful Sedona.
