Edward J. Sobel, age 67, husband of the late Rita (Quinn) Sobel, of Royersford, PA died Friday evening, March 25, 2011. Born in Philadelphia, PA, he was the only son of Mildred (Fusco) Sobel, Marlton, NJ, and the late Edward J. Szabolowski (Sobel). He attended Drexel University. He was a successful business owner; was co-owner of East Penn Construction Company and later became employed by Uniform Tube, Inc. Ed was a social member of the Royersford VFW, Friendship Fire Company ('Hookies') in Royersford, the American Legion in Spring City, and the Liberty Fire Company in Spring City.
In addition to his mother, Mr. Sobel is survived by seven children; Elizabeth Ammon, of Pottstown, Amy Sobel, of Mt. Penn, PA, Aubria "Missy" Pollazzi, Stefin Sobel, Damien "Puck" Sobel, Anastasia "Stacy" Haines, Bridgit D. Monaghan, all of Marlton, NJ, four sisters; Barbara Hartzell, Kathleen Angermann, Linda Napier, Donna Joy Walsh, and many grandchildren.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend the Funeral Mass at Sacred Heart Roman Catholic Church, Lewis Road at Walnut Street, Royersford, PA 19468 on Friday, April 1, 2011 at 10:30 AM. Officiating will be the Rev. Peter J. DiMaria. Friends will be received from 9:00-10:00 AM that morning at Cattermole-Klotzbach Funeral Home, 600 Washington Street, Royersford, PA.
