Obituary

Edward N. "Spider" Yanchek, 77, husband of Shirley A. (Prindle) Yanchek, of Royersford, passed away on Thursday, September 17, 2009, in his residence. Born in Phoenixville, he was a son of the late Paul and Mary (Hayni) Yanchek.

Mr. Yanchek was a 1950 graduate of Phoenixville High School and served in the Army National Guard. Over the years he was employed as a butcher at Weiland Meat Packing in Phoenixville, a packer at Diamond Glass in Royersford, and head of maintenance at Spring Ford Country Club, until he retired in 1995. He loved hunting, fishing, and trips to the mountains, and also loved golf and sports on TV, especially watching baseball.

In addition to his wife, Mr. Yanchek is survived by his sons, Brad, husband of the late Rose Yanchek, of Brownsmill, NJ, Keith, husband of Sue Yanchek, of Royersford, Kent, husband of Cynthia Yanchek, of Mohnton, Donald Jr., husband of Darlene Donovan, of Spring City, and Michael Strohl, of Norristown, daughter, Lisa, wife of David Heron, of Coatesville, brother, Lt. Col. William Yanchek, sixteen grandchildren, twenty great-grandchildren, and many nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his daughter Anita Strohl, sister, Margaret Yanchek, and brothers, Stephen, Anthony, Paul Jr., Frank, and Martin Yanchek.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend his funeral service at the Cattermole-Klotzbach Funeral Home, 600 Washington Street, Royersford, on Tuesday, September 22, 2009, at 7:30 p.m. Officiating will be the Rev.
