Eleanor M. (Paster) Klenk, age 96, wife of Charles F. Klenk of Phoenixville, Pennsylvania, passed away on Wednesday, July 12, 2023 in Gwynned Health and Rehabilitation, North Wales. Born on October 4, 1926, in Phoenixville, she was a daughter of the late Mary (Dunlap) and Stephen Paster.
Eleanor had been employed as a young girl at the J.J. Newberry five and dime in Phoenixville, where she met her future husband of seventy four years. She had also been employed at Dettra Flag Co., in Oaks, Philco, in Spring City and later in the microelectronics division of GE Aeorspace, in King of Prussia, until her retirement in 1988.
Eleanor always kept busy and if she wasn't working, was busy working in her home. She was devoted to her two daughters, and enjoyed cooking and especially loved baking at Christmas time for all of her family. Eleanor also enjoyed trips to the casinos.
Eleanor was a long time member of St. John United Church of Christ, Phoenixville.
In addition to her loving husband, Eleanor is survived by her daughters: Gloria C. (Chester Warren) Klenk and Patricia K. (Joseph J.) Barber; two grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; three great-great-grandchildren; and siblings: Evelyn Bernsteel and Stephen Paster. She was preceded in death by sisters: Dorothy Bernsteel and Betty Jane Columbia.
Funeral services will be held privately at the convenience of the family.
